Women's Physiotherapy FAQs

Yes. Women's health and pelvic floor sessions are handled by Dr. Arshnoor, our Senior Consultant Physiotherapist, who is a Certified Pelvic Rehab Therapist.

You can call and book an assessment directly. If you are already under a gynaecologist's or specialist's care, bring your prescription and reports so the programme can be aligned with their treatment plan.

For some pelvic floor conditions an internal assessment gives the most accurate picture of muscle strength and tone. It is always explained first, carried out only with your consent, and can be deferred or declined — useful treatment can still be planned without it.

Pregnancy physiotherapy is widely used for back, hip and pelvic girdle pain, with techniques and exercises adapted to your trimester and history. Tell us about any complications your obstetrician has flagged, and stop and inform us immediately if you notice pain, bleeding or reduced foetal movement.

Physiotherapy does not treat the medical causes of infertility and is not a substitute for gynaecological care. What it can address are contributing factors such as pelvic floor tension, restricted mobility, posture and stress, which is why it is used alongside your fertility treatment rather than instead of it.

It should not be painful. Techniques are graded to what you can tolerate, particularly for vaginismus and pelvic pain, where progress depends on the muscles being able to relax. Tell your physiotherapist at any point if something is uncomfortable.

It depends on the condition, how long you have had it and how consistently you can do the home programme. You will be given an expected range after the first assessment, and it is reviewed as you progress.

Pain-related complaints such as tailbone or pregnancy pain often ease within the first few sessions. Pelvic floor retraining for leaking or prolapse is a strengthening process and usually takes several weeks of consistent work before you see a clear change.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing you can move in. Bring any prescriptions, scans, ultrasound or urodynamic reports and a list of your current medicines.

Yes for exercise-based and manual therapy sessions. If an internal pelvic floor assessment is planned, mention it when booking and it can be rescheduled for your comfort.

Yes. Sessions are one-to-one and your clinical details are shared only with you and, where relevant, your treating doctor.

Call +91 80314 11616 or message us on WhatsApp with your condition, how long you have had it and your preferred day and time. Our centre is at SCO 48 & 49, Sector 71, Mohali.
